Susan Lerner is a comedy and drama screenwriter based in New York. Her scripts tackle serious topics ranging from dementia to antisemitism to the complexities of mourning, often with a comedic twist that invites audiences to see the lighter side of life’s challenges.

She has published short stories and two novels and written several screenplays. She draws from her experiences with heartbreak and breaking hearts, of being the daughter of immigrants who only wanted to forget the past, as well as the complexities of being a mom and a working woman.

Susan studied screenwriting with Alan Kingsberg, Marc Sedaka, and Aurin Squire and is a Stowe Story Labs alum.  Prior to writing scripts, she was a corporate lawyer.

Her most recent screenplay is a heartfelt comedy feature, The Last Con.
